Why Naples Homeowners Choose CWS Windows & Doors

Winslow Windows & Doors provides independent CWS in Naples windows and doors repair, service, and installation throughout Naples, Florida. We are not a CWS dealer and we are not authorized by the manufacturer, which means we answer to you, not a corporate warranty department. Our crew knows CWS 70 Series, 80 Series, 900 Series, and 7700 Series hardware inside and out, and we stock local parts so a sagging sash or seized multi-point lock gets fixed without a six-week factory lead time. Call (239) 899-6411 and a live person answers, any hour, any day.

Naples is a unique market for CWS products. Salt-laden Gulf air corrodes hardware within a mile or two of Gulf Shore Boulevard. Hurricane Irma’s 2017 direct hit pushed the entire retrofit market into overdrive. And Collier County’s strict “substantial improvement” threshold means a kitchen remodel in Port Royal can legally force a whole-house window replacement. We work in that reality every week.

Why Trust Winslow Windows & Doors for Your CWS Windows & Doors?

Ed Winslow grew up in Miami and learned the windows and doors trade at Miami Dade College’s construction technology program before spending decades in the field. He and his crew have been working Southwest Florida for years, installing Impact Windows on everything from quiet ranch homes to high-rises overlooking the Gulf along Vanderbilt Beach Road. Ed still shows up to every job site at least once, not to supervise, but because he genuinely wants to see how the light comes through a new window in a finished room.

That’s the level of attention your CWS windows get from us. Our technicians have handled enough CWS 70 Series single hungs and 80 Series horizontal rollers to diagnose a problem from a phone description and a photo before we ever park the truck. We use OEM CWS parts when a client orders them directly, but we also carry aftermarket components that match or beat factory spec, which saves Naples homeowners real money and weeks of waiting. And since we’re independent, we’ll tell you plainly when a repair makes sense and when you’re better off with a full replacement. No warranty-department script. No upselling.

Ed’s name is on the truck. That means we stand behind every frame we set.

Common CWS Windows & Doors Problems We Fix in Naples

  • Sagging or misaligned sashes on CWS 70 Series single hung windows. The block-and-tackle balance system in these windows wears unevenly over time, especially in rooms facing direct afternoon sun. One side loses tension and the sash tilts in the frame, creating an air gap along the top rail and letting water in during summer downpours. We replace the balance assemblies in pairs and reset the sash alignment.
  • Worn nylon rollers on CWS 80 Series horizontal rollers. This is the single most common CWS slider failure we see in Naples. The original nylon rollers are exposed to salt air, grit, and heat, and they slowly disintegrate. Once the nylon shell breaks away, the metal hub drags directly on the aluminum track and carves a groove. By the time the door gets hard to slide, the track is usually damaged too. Our crew was called to a Naples home with a CWS 80 Series horizontal roller that had become nearly impossible to slide. We found the nylon rollers had disintegrated, causing the sash to drag and groove the aluminum track. We replaced the rollers with commercial-grade aftermarket units and realigned the interlock, restoring smooth operation without replacing the entire window.
  • Failed compression weather-stripping on CWS 900 Series casement windows. The multi-point locking system on a casement window pulls the sash tight against a compression gasket around the full perimeter. That gasket is rubber, and rubber in Naples lives a hard life. Salt, UV, and heat cycling make it stiff, cracked, and eventually useless. The window itself is fine, but you’ll feel a draft and see a bump in your cooling bill. We replace the gasket material and adjust the lock points so the seal actually compresses again.
  • Corroded and seized multi-point locking mechanisms on CWS entry doors. Multi-point locks are excellent for security and air sealing, but their steel internal components hate coastal air. Within a mile or two of the Gulf, we routinely find lock bars that won’t retract because salt corrosion has bound the mechanism. Sometimes we can disassemble and restore the existing hardware. Other times, especially when internal springs have snapped, a full lock-body replacement is the only durable fix.
  • Track wear and interlock damage on CWS 7700 Series 3-lite sliders. The middle panels on these sliders are heavy, and when a roller fails, the panel weight drags across the bottom track. The interlock between adjacent panels then misaligns and the panels grind against each other. Left alone, this turns a cheap roller replacement into a track-and-interlock rebuild. We catch it early when we can.

CWS Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We keep a practical inventory of CWS-compatible parts at our shop: balance assemblies for 70 Series single hungs, commercial-grade nylon rollers sized for 80 Series and 7700 Series tracks, compression gaskets for 900 Series casements, and multi-point lock bodies for CWS entry doors. That means most repairs happen in one visit, not after a back-order.

On parts, here’s the straight story: OEM CWS parts can be ordered by you directly from the manufacturer, and we’ll happily install them. But OEM pricing is often 40 to 60 percent higher than equivalent aftermarket components, and lead times can stretch weeks. When aftermarket quality is equal or better, which it often is for rollers and weather-stripping, we’ll recommend it and show you the cost difference in writing. Repair is usually the right call when the frame and sash are structurally solid. Full replacement makes sense when the glazing has lost its thermal performance or when impact-rated compliance is required for a code renovation. We’ll never push a replacement on a window that can honestly be saved, and we’ll never string along a window that should go.

Our CWS Service Process - Step by Step

  1. 1
Phone diagnosis first. When you call (239) 899-6411, you talk to a person. We ask about the specific symptoms: noise when sliding, drafts, condensation between panes, water intrusion during rain. CWS failures tend to be predictable, so we can usually tell you what we’re dealing with before we arrive.
  2. 2
On-site inspection with written findings. We schedule a specific arrival time and show up in uniform, background-checked. We test the window’s balance, track condition, seal integrity, and lock operation. You get a written diagnosis and a line-item quote. No verbal estimates pulled from a pricing book.
  3. 3
Repair or installation. We use the agreed parts and perform the work to manufacturer spacing and sealing tolerances. For full replacements, we pull permits when Collier County requires them and coordinate inspections.
  4. 4
Testing before we leave. Every repaired or installed window gets cycled multiple times. Sliders get a loaded slide test. Casements get a compression check with a smoke pencil. Single hungs get raised and dropped repeatedly. If it doesn’t operate properly on our watch, it never gets signed off.
  5. 5
Warranty on our work. We provide a workmanship warranty on every repair and installation, backed by the 36500-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not done right, Winslow makes it right. Period. That’s the entire warranty philosophy.

Whether the job is hurricane impact windows, vinyl replacement windows, or a full frame replacement, the same crew does the work from start to finish.

We Also Service These Brands

We service and install more than a dozen premium brands, including PGT, CGI, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems. If you have a mixed home with CWS sliders and PGT casements, one crew can handle both. That means one phone call, one appointment, one invoice.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★

"The installation was clean and the windows are beautiful. The factory took about six weeks to deliver the units, which Ed told me upfront, but living behind plywood-framed openings in the meantime still tested my patience."

GGuadalupe Zamorano
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"Someone tried the back slider while we were away. The glass crazed and held, the alarm never had to earn its keep, and the police report reads better than it might have. Ed came out the next morning to check the frame himself."

CCornelius Adeyemi
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."

OOdessa Fairbanks
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."
