How Winslow Windows & Doors Came to Naples

Before we opened our doors here, we spent a long time watching how window and door work was being done in Naples. We saw the same pattern repeat itself across the city: a homeowner in Park Shore or Pelican Bay would get a quote, hand over a deposit, and then wait. The crew would show up late or not at all. The product that arrived wasn’t what was promised. The warranty was a piece of paper nobody intended to honor.

We remember sitting across from a homeowner in Old Naples who had paid a company to install new impact windows. Six months later, water was seeping in around the frames during afternoon storms. The company had dissolved, the phone number was dead, and she was left holding a problem nobody would touch. She wasn’t angry. She was exhausted. That conversation stuck with us.

When Winslow Windows & Doors expanded into Southwest Florida, Ed Winslow stepped forward to run the branch. The promise from day one was simple: show up when we say we will, price the job honestly, install it correctly, and answer the phone when something goes wrong. That’s what Naples needed. That’s what we built here.

Ed Winslow’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade

Ed Winslow didn’t grow up planning to run a window and door company. He grew up around people who worked with their hands, people who treated a clean seam and a level sill as a point of pride. The first time he helped pull an old aluminum single-pane window out of a wall, he remembers the smell of decades-old dust and damp insulation, the sound of rotted wood splintering under a pry bar. Most people would walk away from that. He wanted to understand it.

The trade got into his blood in a way he didn’t expect. There’s a moment in every window replacement where the old unit comes out and you’re looking through an open hole in the side of someone’s house. You can feel the outside air, hear the traffic, notice how much light changes in the room. Then you set the new unit, seal it, trim it, and step back. The room feels different. Quieter. Cooler. Brighter. That transformation never got old for him.

Ed has spent more than a decade working in and around this trade. He’s done it in the heat of August, when the sun beats down on a south-facing wall and the stucco feels hot through work gloves. He’s done it during summer storms, when you learn fast which sealants hold and which ones fail. He’s seen what salt air does to cheap hardware within three years, and he’s learned which products actually stand up to life a mile from the Gulf.

What gets him out of bed in the morning is knowing that most people in Naples only buy windows and doors once or twice in their lives. They don’t know the right questions to ask. They don’t know what’s a fair price. They’re trusting whoever they hire. Ed takes that trust seriously, and it’s why he personally walks the job sites, checks the work, and talks to homeowners before the crew packs up. If he weren’t doing this, he’d probably be building or refinishing furniture. Something with wood, something quiet, something where the quality of the work speaks for itself.

Meet Ed Winslow - The Person Behind Every Job

Ed Winslow is the Owner & Founder of Winslow Windows & Doors. For over a decade, he has been involved in the window and door trade across Southwest Florida, learning the products, the building methods, and the particular challenges that Naples homes present. He’s worked with impact-rated systems, energy-efficient glass packages, and the brands this market trusts, including PGT and Mr-Glass, alongside proven entry door lines like Therma-Tru.

Unlike a technician dispatched from a corporate office three states away, Ed knows what a summer thunderstorm sounds like from inside a Naples home with single-pane windows. He knows that a door that swells in humid September becomes a problem you can’t ignore. He’s local, he’s accountable, and he believes the person whose name is on the company should be the one making sure the work is done right. You won’t deal with faceless layers. You’ll deal with Ed and a team he trusts, and every job reflects on him personally.

Our Promise to Naples Homeowners

Our promises aren’t slogans written by a marketing department. They come out of conversations with homeowners who told us what went wrong before.

Honest pricing. We give you a written, line-item estimate before any work starts. The price we quote is the price you pay. If something changes during the job, we talk to you first. No surprises on the final invoice, no vague “miscellaneous” charges.

Quality parts and materials. In this climate, cheap products fail quickly. Salt air, humidity, UV exposure, and hurricane season all punish shortcuts. We specify products we’d put in our own homes, because we live in the same conditions you do.

We stand behind the work. If something isn’t right, you call us. We come back. That’s been the rule since the day this branch opened, and it’s the reason most of our work comes from homeowners recommending us to their neighbors.

Our Credentials

When you invite a company into your home, you deserve to know who you’re dealing with:

  • State-licensed: Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license their state requires for window and door work.
  • Insured and bonded: Coverage protects you, your property, and our team. We maintain it because it’s the right thing to do, not because it’s the cheapest thing to do.
  • Local experience: Ed Winslow has been working in and around this trade in Southwest Florida for over a decade, and the team he has built here understands Naples construction methods, codes, and products.
  • Strong local reputation: Our work comes from referrals, repeat customers, and homeowners who’ve seen the job done right the first time.

Here’s why these matter: a window or door replacement done incorrectly can leak, fail inspection, or fail during a hurricane. The person you hire should be licensed so the work is permitted properly, insured so you’re not on the hook for an accident on your property, and experienced enough to know what works in this climate. Those aren’t extras. They’re the baseline for anyone working on your home.

Rooted in Naples

We work in Naples every day: Old Naples, Park Shore, Moorings, Coquina Sands, Bayshore, and beyond. We know the difference between a condo in Pelican Bay and a 1990s single-family home in Golden Gate. We know which neighborhoods get the strongest afternoon storms, and we know what that means for flashing and sealants. When you call us, you’re not explaining Naples to someone who’s never seen it. You’re talking to people who know exactly where you are and what your home needs.
