CWS Sliding & Patio Doors: The Naples Owner’s Guide

CWS sliding and patio doors in Naples typically cost $1,800 to $4,600 installed, depending on size, glass package, and whether you need impact-rated glass. We stock rollers, handles, locks, track kits, and weatherstripping for most CWS door lines on our service trucks, so most part replacements happen in one visit. The call usually starts the same way: the door started dragging three weeks ago, and now it won’t move at all. Or a handle snapped clean off. Or the lock won’t catch, and you’ve been propping a broom handle in the track every night. By the time someone calls us, they’ve usually been fighting the door for a month. You don’t have to wait that long.

Winslow Windows & Doors is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with CWS, but we install and service their products, and we stock the parts that keep them running right.

Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS builds several sliding door series, and the parts are not always interchangeable. We service the CWS 7000 and 8000 series sliding glass doors, plus their patio door configurations with standard and impact glass. The quickest way to identify what you have is the label on the door edge or the sticker on the head jamb near the lock. That sticker carries the series number, glass make-up, and sometimes the manufacturing date. If the sticker’s gone, we can match the part by measuring the roller housing, the stile width, and the track profile.

One compatibility gotcha we see a lot in Naples: CWS produced track systems in both stainless and aluminum, and the roller wheels are not interchangeable between the two. Installing the wrong wheel set chews up the track within a year. We match OEM parts when the door is under warranty or when the hardware is still in production. For discontinued CWS hardware, we carry proven aftermarket equivalents from the same supply chains we use for impact work, and we test fit them on the bench before we install anything in your home.

Signs Your CWS Sliding & Patio Doors Is Failing

  • The door drags or catches mid-track. This is almost always a flattened roller wheel or debris-packed track. In Naples, fine sand from the beach and construction dust from all the infill building works its way into the track channel and grinds the rollers down. If you force it, the wheel housing bends and the roller binds permanently.
  • The lock won’t engage, or it engages but won’t hold. CWS mortise locks have a spring-loaded catch that corrodes quickly in salt air. Once the catch stops seating, the door won’t lock even when the handle feels like it’s turning all the way. That’s a security issue, not a nuisance.
  • The handle spins freely or feels loose. The internal gear or spindle connection in the CWS handle set wears out after heavy daily use. On impact doors, a loose handle also means the multipoint locking rods aren’t connecting, which compromises the whole door’s rating.
  • Water stains on the interior floor near the track’s end. The weep holes on CWS tracks are small and clog easily with fine grit. When water can’t drain, it pools and seeps under the frame. In a Naples summer downpour, you’ll see it within minutes.
  • The door vibrates or rattles when you walk past it. Worn weatherstripping and an out-of-adjustment roller carriage let the panel sit loose in the frame. You’ll feel a draft, and you’ll hear the panel shudder when the air conditioner kicks on.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a CWS sliding or patio door in Naples, here’s what owners typically pay when they call us:

  • Roller replacement (both panels): $185 to $340 installed, including parts and track cleaning.
  • Handle and lock set replacement: $160 to $290 installed, depending on finish and whether it’s a single-point or multipoint lock.
  • Weatherstripping and track service: $120 to $220, which includes realigning the panel and adjusting the height.
  • Full door replacement (CWS-compatible, impact-rated): $1,800 to $4,600 installed, sized and glass package depending.

What drives the range on a full replacement is the glass: non-impact tempered glass sits at the low end, while impact-rated laminated glass matched to your existing CWS frame dimensions pushes the number up. Every quote we write is a line-item price for the part, the labor, and any haul-off. No change orders halfway through. Our workmanship warranty on any CWS part replacement is the same promise we’ve made since Ed Winslow opened this shop in 2011: if it’s not done right, we come back. That’s the 36500-Day Done Right Promise, and it applies to a $200 roller swap the same as it applies to a full door replacement.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: whether the track is packed with sand or debris, whether the weep holes at the base of the track are clear, and whether the handle screws are just loose. Cleaning the track and tightening the handle set is reasonable homeowner work. Beyond that, this is where DIY goes sideways. CWS sliding doors are heavy, often 200 pounds or more per impact-rated panel. Lifting one out without the right technique damages the track or, worse, puts a person under the panel. The roller adjustments on CWS hardware use eccentric cams that are easy to strip if you don’t know the orientation. And if the lock isn’t seating correctly, a homeowner’s fix usually means the door looks locked but isn’t. In Naples, an unlocked sliding door on the back of the house is an invitation. Call us at (239) 899-6411 and we’ll get the door moving and locking the same day we come out. My name’s on the truck. That means I stand behind every frame we set.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★

"The installation was clean and the windows are beautiful. The factory took about six weeks to deliver the units, which Ed told me upfront, but living behind plywood-framed openings in the meantime still tested my patience."

GGuadalupe Zamorano
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"Someone tried the back slider while we were away. The glass crazed and held, the alarm never had to earn its keep, and the police report reads better than it might have. Ed came out the next morning to check the frame himself."

CCornelius Adeyemi
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."

OOdessa Fairbanks
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."
