ES Windows Window Installation: The Naples Owner’s Guide

ES Windows window installation in Naples typically runs $850 to $2,400 per opening for a full frame-out and set, depending on the series and whether we’re dealing with impact-rated glass or standard laminated units. We stock ES Windows-compatible installation hardware on the truck, and most single-window swaps are done in one visit. Most Naples homeowners call us because a window has started leaking around the frame after a storm, or the sash won’t seat square anymore after years of salt air and afternoon heat working on the original install.

What we see most often in Naples isn’t a factory defect. It’s an installation that was done years ago without enough attention to how ES Windows frames expand and contract in our humidity cycle. The glass is usually fine. The install around it failed. That’s the part we’re replacing properly this time.

Which ES Windows Models This Applies To

We install and service window installation across the ES Windows lineup we stock: the ESW 6000 and 7000 Series impact-rated single-hung and casement lines, the ESW 8500 Picture Window series, and the ESW horizontal roller series that shows up on a lot of mid-rise condos along Gulf Shore Boulevard and Park Shore. Each series has different frame depths and nailing fin configurations, which is the single biggest mistake we see from other installers treating them like generic vinyl frames.

To identify your exact window installation parts, look at the factory label on the inside of the frame near the header or on the sash edge. ES Windows stamps a seven-digit serial starting with “ESW” followed by the series code: 60, 70, or 85. The label also gives the glass makeup, which matters because a 7000 Series impact unit needs a completely different anchoring schedule than a 6000 Series non-impact unit. If the label is faded, measure the frame depth at the jamb: 3-1/4 inches is the 6000 Series, 4-1/2 inches is the 7000, and 5-1/8 inches is the 8500 picture line.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for installation hardware like mounting clips, shims, and sealant systems, we use OEM-spec or better every time. ES Windows frames use a specific thermal break profile that aftermarket generic clips don’t always seat into correctly. We’ve re-done too many jobs where a generic clip kit caused the frame to bow under wind load. For the glass itself, we only install ES Windows-certified laminated units in impact zones. Naples building code is specific about this, and so are we.

We’re an independent installer, not part of ES Windows corporate. But we’ve been installing their product line along the Gulf Coast long enough that we know exactly what factory install specs call for, and where real-world Naples weather forces a smarter approach.

Signs Your ES Windows Window Installation Is Failing

  • Water staining on the interior drywall below the window corners. This usually means the original installer skipped the sill pan flashing or used a sealant that has now dried and pulled away from the ES Windows frame. We see this constantly on west-facing walls in Naples where afternoon storms hit hardest.
  • Visible gaps between the frame and the stucco or drywall. ES Windows frames are rigid, and when the opening was over-shimmed or under-shimmed at install, the frame separates from the surrounding wall over time. The gap opens, the sealant fails, and air and water move through.
  • The sash sticks or won’t close flush on one side. That’s a frame that was set out of square. ES Windows tolerances are tight, and once the frame is racked, no amount of forcing the crank or sliding the sash will fix it. The install needs to be redone.
  • Condensation between the panes of insulated glass. This is a seal failure, and on ES Windows units it often traces back to a frame that was over-shimmed, which flexes the glass unit and breaks the argon seal. A replacement glass unit alone won’t last if we don’t correct the install pressure points first.
  • You hear wind whistling through the window even when it’s closed and locked. In Naples, on any window within a mile of the water, that’s an installation problem with the weatherstripping bed or the frame anchor points pulling loose from years of salt air and wind cycling.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here are the installed price ranges we quote in Naples for ES Windows window installation work:

  • Frame re-set and re-seal on an existing window (no glass replacement): $450 to $850 per opening, including removing the old sealant, re-shimming the frame square, new OEM-spec anchoring, and a full marine-grade sealant bed.
  • Full window installation with new ES Windows unit, impact-rated: $1,200 to $2,400 per opening for 6000 and 7000 Series units depending on size and whether it’s a second-floor install.
  • Single sash replacement with re-alignment of existing frame: $350 to $650 for standard sizes, impact glass adds $150 to $300 per sash.

The price range depends on window size, whether the opening needs stucco repair after we pull the old frame, and whether we’re working on a first or second story. Every quote we give in Naples is line-item: parts, labor, disposal, and any stucco or trim work listed separately. There’s no change order waiting for you after the old window comes out. We’ve been doing this since 2011, and Ed Winslow’s name is on the business, not a PO box. The work carries our 36500-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right, we come back and make it right, period.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely check the basics: look for gaps or cracked sealant around the frame, check the serial label so you know exactly what series you’re dealing with, and feel for drafts on a windy day. That information helps you get an accurate estimate over the phone.

What we don’t recommend is pulling the frame and re-setting an ES Windows unit yourself, especially anything impact-rated. These windows are heavy. A 7000 Series impact sash can weigh over 90 pounds. Getting the shim pattern and anchor schedule wrong means the window won’t meet Naples-Dade building code for wind load, and you may not find out until a hurricane tests it. The glass in these units can also shatter unpredictably if pulled from a racked frame. Let a trained installer do the heavy work. Call us at (239) 899-6411 and we’ll walk you through what you’re seeing before we ever send a truck.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★

"The installation was clean and the windows are beautiful. The factory took about six weeks to deliver the units, which Ed told me upfront, but living behind plywood-framed openings in the meantime still tested my patience."

GGuadalupe Zamorano
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"Someone tried the back slider while we were away. The glass crazed and held, the alarm never had to earn its keep, and the police report reads better than it might have. Ed came out the next morning to check the frame himself."

CCornelius Adeyemi
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."

OOdessa Fairbanks
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."
